Bigil Story: Whether the son fulfils his father’s dream or not.
Do you not get engaged with this one line theme? Wait, there are some special ingredients in this Atlee’s recipe at Vijay’s kitchen to make your taste buds yummy in grand house of AGS Entertainment.
Bigil starts with bigil dealing characters and situations pragmatically with Vijay dual roles — Rayappan (father role), Michael (coach role) — JK Sharma (Jackie Shroff – a remorseless business man and the president of the Indian football association), carefree-physiotherapist Angel (Nayanthara), Kathir (the coach of Tamil Nadu football team) and girls who form the players in the football team – Indhuja, Reba, Amrita, Indraja and Varsha.
Rayappan, a do-gooder don, wants his people to live in peaceful and educated life. Also, he believes that is only possible when his son become a champion in football.
Mostly all the roads lead to Rome but some are to Damascus. Railway station scene is such a road but a road block to Rayappan’s dream. ARR did his magic not only in Singappenney also in Elunthuvaa.
History repeats itself in everyone’s life. The aftermath effect of well-choreographed fight scene with arch enemy Daniel Balaji brings Michael as Bigil in front.
The immaculate cinematography elevates the practicing scenes and dark mode scene which starts with MGR song in background.
The start and end of crafty character Jackie Shroff was written neatly. And the scenes where Vijay win over the girls’ families to allow playing football are dealt wisely.
More than a women centric sport film, Bigil is a overshadow film for men too.

Viswaasam story: A journey of village yob to state-wide shot to protect the life of his daughter.
It’s a complete mojo back of Siva and Ajith’s viswasaam (faith) – production by Sathya Jyothi Films. Ajith as dialogue in his earlier film “en vaazkaiya nane sethukanathu” lives life by his rules and his family members are mollycoddled him. The folded grief in Thookku Durai’s (Ajith) life has been unfolded by the old lady’s dialogue “sirichinu irukarthukum santhosama irukarthukum vithyasam puyiyura vayasayidichu ennaku”.
In their travel time to Mumbai, the story that was happened nearly a decade before has been like a background song rather than flash back yet it’s a colourful period of the man with white mustache with breeze of cinematography and music.
Niranjana (Nayanthara) visits Thookku Durai’s village for a medical camp. Though they are as different as chalk and cheese, they get married in the intersecting point of ingenuous. But diametric to Niranjana’s wish after a birth of daughter, Thookku Durai involves in settling disputes that made Niranjana moves to Mumabai with her daughter for give better life.
After reaching Mumbai, Durai came to know that his daughter is in danger, which Niranjana is not aware of it. Gautham Veer (Jagapathi Babu), a big daddy in business and family, believes that Durai’s daughter is solely reason for his daughter illness.
“Naan nenachathu ellam ovv onna en nadakuthu thannala” brings the rest of the story — how he safegaurds his daughter and splice with his wife.

Petta Story: An old man’s game with complete swag in the enemies ground to protect his friend’s son in the form of heart full revenge.
One-man show it’s. Karthick Subburaj & Team produced by Sun Pictures have given us the man entitled with Superstar after a decade. “Ketta payan sir” lyric in Marana mass gives the shade of the protagonist, which we felt later in pre-climax when Rajini sings “raman aandalum raavana aandalum”.
Rajini (Kaali) joins in a college as a hostel warden. In flip time, he’s making mingle with couple Megha Akash and Sanath – and romancing with Simran (Megha Akash’s mother) and settling college dispute headed by Michael (Bobby Simha). And soon, the time came up for which Kaali awaited saying “Kola veri la irukka kollama vitamatta” to retaliate Singhar Singh (Nawazuddin Siddique), a right-wing politician, and his violent son, Jithu (Vijay Sethupathi) in Uttar Pradesh.
As dialogue in this film “naturally”, Rajini is in vintage style donning full sleeves and glass. Cinematographer gives us the treat by capturing all nuances in both romantic and give back portions. Anirudh gives raw flavour with simple composition to which Rajini shakes his legs amplified to the greater extend.
Verbatim of Rajinikanth is the verdict line for this movie review “nan yaanai illa kuthirai”.

Nerkonda Paarvai Story: How a lawyer who is under medication defends his clients from false filed case midst political influence.
Nerkonda Paarvai, official remake of Aniruddha Roy Chowdhary’s Amitabh Bachchan–Taapsee Pannu starrer Pink, bankrolled by Boney Kapoor under Bayview Projects LLP banner.
The story starts with three young, independent girls, Meera Krishnan (Shraddha Srinath), Famita (Abhirami Venkatachalam) and Andrea (Andrea Tariang), seem affright. On the other side, three boys Adhik (Arjun), Venky (Aswin) and Viswa (Meera) driving away with one of them bleeding due to injury in head. The reason for the girls to be frightened is Adhik tries to harass Meera, and she paroxysm him with bottle in his head.
After return to their home, girls hope that there was no effect and it was finished. But, Adhik, son of politician, files a false case against the girls. Bharath Subramaniam (Ajith Kumar), a lawyer under medication for bipolar after his beloved wife (Vidya Balan) untimely death, defends for the girls. In opposition, Sathyamoorthy (Rangaraj Pandey), guile lawyer, takes up the boys’ case. The rest is the court drama with heated arguments for the verdict.
On technical side, Yuvan boosts the emotion of suspense, thriller and chasing scenes, even with silence. Ajith’s close-up shots in the garden make us feel the intense of outrange.

Kaithi Story: One single night story of prisoner released on parole who enlisted by injured police officer in compulsion and how he gets rid of it to meet his never seen daughter.
Kaithi begins with the team of cops headed by Bejoy (Narain) confiscated 90 Kilos of cocaine, which is kept in secret cell under commissioner’s office. Anbu (Arjun Das), and his gang, put almost every police officers under sedation to recover the cocaine and also free their leader who is in police custody. Bejoy, an honest, injured cop, has to enlist Dilli (Karthi), a life-time prisoner released on parole to see his never seen daughter. Cut to the scene, few college students and lone constable (George Mariyam) and a group of college students caught for drunken driving protect the commissioner’s office from Anbu who is planning an attack to recover the cocaine and their leader. Without any songs, Cinematography in-charge Sathyan Sooryan and action sequence choreographed by Anbariv give shape to the Lokesh’s vision on this well-packed action thriller.
Already audience we are in the edge of seat. Book the seats and sit in the edges for the second part.

Darbar Story: Reason behind the ruthless hunt of single cop and how he takes revenge on the X-man.
Aaditya Arunachalam (Rajinikanth), larger-than-life cop, taking charge as City Police Commissioner of Mumbai and clean-up the drug mafia in the city. In such operations, he arrested Ajay Malhotra (Prateik Babbar), the son of a top industrialist and a big supplier of drugs. But Ajay makes a proxy in jail, and when Aaditya came to know this he shot Ajay in spot and left no stone unturned to find the man behind —(is) Hari Chopra (Suniel Shetty).
The first part runs in usual Ranji’s swag and filled with Rajini elements like sentiment, humour and romance alongside with Yogi Babu, Nivetha Thomas and Nayanthara.
The exercises he practised to find Hari Chopra and how he eliminated him form rest of the story.
Anirudh’s music not works in all situations but to mark the railway station fight, song and camera—all department did their best for our guarantee piloerection throughout for five minutes. Lyca put their money on Darbar and the one word magic “Rajini” not fails this time too.

How has the Tamil Cinema Strike affected the Film Industry?
Days of yore, there were two films “Kalakalappu & Naachiyaar” which rules the theatres for a month without any success meet, poster of blockbuster. Yes, that was the time when Tamil film industry proved their solidarity.
Firstly, it was a call from Telugu side to organize strike against sky-high price for Virtual Print Fee (VPF) each film, QUBE, UFO, etc. Later, southern-Woods taken part, and all turned back except Kollywood. The Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association (TNFEA) has submitted a request asking to remove 8% Local Body Entertainment Tax and also decided to do strike from March 1.
Tamil film trade analyst said that the industry has been affected by demonization, Vardah cyclone, demise of former CM Jayalalitha and this is like coup de grace to the people working in this industry.
Had we really faced any problem in that period? Did our Fridays skipped and directly we jumped on to Mondays in those 4 weeks? Not even we missed “itsprashanth, cinemapaiyyan, bluesattai”, as all taken this issue and upload their comments.

After the meeting, as fruitful solutions for the problems are found out, the strike was called off.
